The process of approximating the geolocation of a device by using two or more access points, such as Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth beacons, or other devices, is called location triangulation. The device’s distance from an access point is measured by logging the device’s signal strength to the access point. Observing the signal strength of multiple data points reveals the device’s physical location.
